How to protect yourself from the strong sun on the beach

You are on vacation at sea in Bulgaria or you have already chosen your hotel on the first line - at whatever stage your plans are, there is something to consider - preventing sunburn.
First of all - do not underestimate the situation! Sunburn can not only bruise your vacation and close you, wrapped in a wet sheet for the rest of it, but also cause irreparable damage to the skin.

What Causes Sunburn?
We all know the short version, and how can we turn red if we put ourselves in the sun longer, but what's behind this process? The sun produces three lengths of ultraviolet rays: UVA, UVB, UVC. The latter do not reach the ground, but the damage to your skin are caused by the first two types. Sunburn is the most visible sign that you stay on the beach for too long, but the damage to the skin is not always so visible. Under the surface of the skin these rays can even damage your DNA and lead to premature aging.

What are the symptoms of sunburn?
The skin becomes red, it is painful, and can even swell. You may develop fever, headache, weakness, or itching. You may have heard these symptoms and, with the folk expression, "catch the sun".

How to protect yourself from the strong sun on the beach?

There are a few golden rules that you should observe when exposed to sunlight. First of all, choose the appropriate beach time. The best time for sunbathing is up to 11am. and after 16h. The next important step is to choose the appropriate clothing for you and the whole family - even if you are not on the beach, you are not insured by sunburn during a walk or even a picnic. Dark clothes attract the sun and make you more vulnerable. Hats are also a must-have accessory that protects not only the head from the heat stroke but also the facial skin with the thicker shadow they throw.
Sun protection! We will not be surprised to say that sunscreen products are the first helper against sunburn and sun allergy. Obligate to check their expiration date, and trust a tested brand. Important when choosing a sunscreen product is to see if it is waterproof and to what extent. Both non-waterproof products and medium and high water resistance products are available on the market. The first provide protection after wet up to 40 minutes and the second up to 80 minutes. This means that in all cases you will not get away with just one lubrication. The factor, in turn, indicates how long a safe stay after normal gives us. It is an indicator of the protection against UVB rays. For example, if your skin gets red after 20 minutes when it's unprotected - with a factor of 30, you'll have 30 times more protection or 10 hours. Keep in mind, however, that there is no factor that stops 100% of the rays - so do not overdo sunbathing.

What to do in sunburn?
If you've already been sunburned, there are a few relieving techniques. First of all, compresses come - any cold compresses will relieve the skin. Specialized products are also important, which will help to cure the injured skin more quickly. Obviously avoid the sun before recovering. There are plenty of folk recipes in our latitudes - yoghurt, cucumber, or garnet - they all have their effect proven over the years, and even if they do not help with the strength of pharmaceuticals, at least they will not hurt if you do not want to reach the pharmacy shelf.

Do not forget that the vacation is primarily meant to regain your mental and physical strength for the rest of the year. Do not underestimate the strong sun and beware of sunburn and allergies that could make your vacation pleasant.
